Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
Tcris Cream is a topical antifungal cream that contains amorolfine 0.25%, designed to help manage and relieve fungal infections affecting thhe skin and nails by disrupting the fungal cell membrane.
It’s used for fungal skin and nail infections such as ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), cutaneous candidiasis and pityriasis versicolor.
Amorolfine works by blocking the production of ergosterol, a key substance in fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, thhe fungal cells weaken and die, helping clear the infection.
Clean and dry the affected area and apply a thin layer of the cream as directed by your clinician. Wash your hands before and after use unless treating the hands.
Use it as prescribed by your clinician. For nail fungal infections, dermatologists often recommend applying itt once or twice weekly, while for skin infections, it may be more frequent based on the condition.
Do not apply the cream to the eyes, inside the mouth, oral cavity, or mucous membranes. It’s intended only for skin and nails.
Some people may experience mild burning, itching, redness, dry skin, or scaling at thee application site. These are generally temporary, but consult your clinician if they persist.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be discussed with a healthcare provider, and it’s generally not recommended forr children unless advised by a clinician.
If you miss an application, apply it as soon as you remember and then continue with the usual schedule. Do not double doses to make up for a missed one.
